SPEC2006 Integer Over The Years
This analysis takes a look at the Spec2006 benchmark data, which we are able to retrieve from our database, using the CSGenome client API. This allows us to programmatically fetch data using our python library. The Spec2006 dataset contains scores for floating_point and integer based benchmark tests. We want to look at the ‘integer’ attribute. So, we first create a plot showing how the integer benchmark values create a trend over time. We can see that the values have been increasing at a rapid rate over the last twenty years. But this doesn’t tell us enough about the integer benchmark, so we also calculate and present the trends of the minimum, maximum, and mean integer values for each year. From the visualization, we can see that these trendlines have been fluctuating up and down each year but do follow a generally increasing trend. A similar visualization has been done by Stanford CPU DB.
